Now in its fifth edition, the award includes a monetary prize of €1,750 for the winning student, along with a €1,170 donation to the Department, aimed at improving the teaching conditions of the course unit.

Nuno Horta, DEEC president, thanked Cisco for its continued support, highlighting that this initiative “not only rewards academic excellence but also contributes to strengthening the Department’s teaching infrastructure.” He also congratulated the winner and expressed appreciation to the jury for their dedication and commitment.

Representing Cisco, João Marques emphasized the importance of the partnership with Técnico and the company’s investment in young talent: “It’s a pleasure to be back at this ceremony for the fifth time. Cisco truly values excellence and is deeply committed to supporting young education,” he said, congratulating Miguel Andrade for his outstanding performance and dedication throughout his academic journey.

Paulo Pereira, course instructor and jury member, underscored the long-standing relevance of this partnership, stressing the direct impact of the financial support on improving teaching conditions and encouraging academic achievement among students.

Since 2019, Cisco has been part of Técnico’s Partner Network, annually recognizing, since the pandemic, students who stand out for their academic performance and dedication — further strengthening the connection between the School and the tech industry.
