The Lisbon Academy of Sciences (ACL) will organise, on the afternoon of 12 November, a tribute session in honour of Professor Carlos Salema, a member of the Academy, Emeritus Professor of Instituto Superior Técnico, Professor Emeritus of the University of Lisbon, and former President of the Instituto de Telecomunicações. The initiative is being organised with the involvement of several members of the Lisbon branch of the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), INESC-ID and ISR-Lisboa.

The event will feature several testimonials reflecting on the speakers' shared experiences with the honouree.

Carlos Salema was a faculty member at Técnico, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, from 1965 to 2003, where he taught courses in telecommunications, particularly microwave radio links. His influence shaped several generations of students and inspired many to pursue careers in the field of telecommunications.
