Energy Day 2026

On May 29, starting at 2:30 p.m., the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), together with INESC-ID, will host Energy Day. The event will take place at the Técnico Innovation Center (TIC) and will feature several experts in the field. In the panel “Storage and Market,” topics such as energy storage, commercialization, and the relationship between industry and academia will be discussed. The second session, “Resilience and the Electrical Grid”, will be dedicated to issues such as transmission, distribution, operations, as well as the security and robustness of the grid. The final panel, “Smart Cities and Smart Grids,” will focus on topics such as mobility, urban energy, and public policy. All sessions will include an open Q&A with the audience.

Next, the Engenheiro Ivo Gonçalves Prize and the Professor Sucena Paiva Prize will be awarded to the best students of the Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering specializing in energy.
