"The Instituto Superior Técnico will mark the first anniversary of ISTSat-1 — the first university satellite entirely developed and built in Portugal — on July 9.

Launched aboard the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Ariane 6 rocket, ISTSat-1 represents a milestone in the history of higher education and scientific research in Portugal. Around 50 students, researchers, and faculty members contributed to the project throughout its development.

The commemorative event will take place at the Central Atrium of Técnico – Oeiras Campus, bringing together institutional partners, space sector experts, and members of the academic community for a joint reflection on the work accomplished and the future challenges of aerospace engineering in Portugal."
