3rd edition of the NInTec Science Days

«Following the success of the second edition, NInTec – Researcher Network announces the third edition of the NInTec Science Days, taking place on October 22 and 23.

This is an interdisciplinary event aimed at sharing knowledge, experience, and some of the latest research developments at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon.

It is an opportunity to promote collaboration and dialogue among the different scientific fields represented across the Institutes and Research Units of the Técnico community. The participation of PhD students and Técnico alumni pursuing research careers in industry, SMEs, and companies is therefore also highly encouraged.

This edition will feature an award for the Best Student Presentation (MSc and PhD), with a monetary prize for the winner.

Abstract submissions are open to all scientific fields, with oral and poster presentations welcomed in the following areas (but not limited to):

  • Exact Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Information Sciences);
  • Energy, Environment and Mobility (Energy, Urban Planning and Construction, Spatial Planning, Transport Systems, among others);
  • Applied Life Sciences (Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.);
  • Engineering and Production Technologies (Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering/Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Medical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering, Naval Technologies);
  • Management and Entrepreneurship Technology (Management and Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Decision-Making and Risk Analysis, Public Policy, etc.);
  • Materials, Microtechnology and Nanotechnology (Micro- and Nanotechnologies, New Materials and Applied Materials, Nanoscience, Microtechnologies, Electronic, Biological and Biomedical Devices, etc.);
  • Information and Communication Technologies (Computing, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems, Systems and Robotics, Telecommunications, etc.).

The NInTec Science Days 2026 will also address scientific policy issues, alongside the main scientific programme.

An integral part of the programme will be a roundtable discussion on “Challenges in Implementing the European Charter for Researchers”.»
