Microelectronics MSc & PhD Talk: Maria Clara Simões and Rúben Afonso

On May 8, during the Electrical and Computer Engineering Days taking place at the Técnico Innovation Center, master’s student Maria Clara Simões and PhD candidate Rúben Afonso will present their current research at 10:30 a.m.

Maria Clara Simões is conducting research in the area of “design of a fully integrated LDO in 65nm CMOS technology, to be implemented in PMUs for smart edge AI processors, using an OTA and an inverter-based amplifier to achieve high DC gain, stable output, and fast transient response across a 10–300mA load current range.”

Rúben Afonso, on the other hand, is working on the “development of a magnetic flow cytometer with a low-noise multichannel platform and a microfluidic cartridge integrating 28 magnetic sensors for real-time bacterial screening, experimentally validated for the detection of Klebsiella pneumoniae in patient swab samples.”

Admission to the event is free, upon registration by May 7.
