Towards Reliable and Transparent Models of Language: A Study with Applications in Machine Translation

On April 9th, PhD student Nuno Guerreiro will defend his thesis Towards Reliable and Transparent Models of Language: A Study with Applications in Machine Translation. The defense will take place at 3:00 PM in room 02.1 of the Congress Center (Floor -2 of the Civil Engineering Pavilion) at Técnico, on the Alameda campus.
The thesis, in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was supervised by Professor André Martins.
The jury will be chaired by Professor Pedro Lima and consists of Professors André Martins and Bruno Martins from DEEC, Luke Sean Zettlemoyer, Professor at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, and Marine Carpuat, Professor at the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS) at the University of Maryland.
