The Lisbon Machine Learning School (LxMLS) takes place annually at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. LxMLS 2026 will be a 6-day in-person event, scheduled from July 20 to 25.

The school covers a wide range of machine learning topics, from theory to practice, which are essential for solving natural language processing problems across different application areas.

LxMLS is aimed at researchers and graduate students in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and computational linguistics, computer scientists interested in statistics and machine learning, and industry professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge in these fields.

The event is jointly organized by Técnico, Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Investigação e Desenvolvimento (INESC-ID), Lisbon ELLIS Unit for Learning and Intelligent Systems (LUMLIS), Zendesk, and IBM Research.
