On 8 October, Técnico and WyGroup, a group bringing together several agencies specialising in marketing, signed a collaboration agreement. The date coincided with the company’s 25th anniversary. WyGroup was founded by Pedro Janela, a former student of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Técnico. During the ceremony, Rogério Colaço, President of Técnico, thanked the alumnus for choosing Técnico to mark this milestone in the company’s history and highlighted the symbolic significance of his “return home”. In his address, he also reflected on current technological transformations and discussed the work carried out during his term of office to strengthen the ties between Técnico and society.

Universities, companies and society must prepare for these changes and dynamics. What the group, and you as employees, are doing is precisely that, and it is transformative.

Pedro Janela looked back on his professional journey, including his time studying Electrical and Computer Engineering, his experience in marketing and IT communications, and his time serving on Técnico’s Board of Directors. Regarding the agreement with Técnico, the alumnus highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting students through the award of one merit-based scholarship and two social support scholarships. The agreement also provides for collaboration on Técnico’s communications.
